In 2003 Severn Trent Water Ltd commissioned ARM to survey their reed beds and provide a maintenance service. The maintenance of reed beds would become an ongoing activity. Anglian Water Ltd commissioned ARM to design and construct a reed bed system to remove solids and pathogens from final effluent at their works in Walton on the Naze. This reed bed is 12,000 square metres in size and is the second largest in England and Wales.
