In 2010, the trial at Hanningfield was successful and Northumbrian water commissioned the company to produce a detailed design. They also gave us details of three more of their WTW sites for us to consider.
The FBA ( Forced Bed Aeration ™) trial at Mayfield Farm was also successful. It showed a ten fold improvement in performance compared with the original system. After many months of planning, BAA Commissioned ARM to convert and upgrade all the original systems. We started on site in October. We developed a Plough (PIM) to insert the aeration pipes into the base of each of the beds.
Staff with Scott Wallace made a number of presentations to water companies focussing on FBA. As a result of these, Severn Trent commissioned ARM to retrofit a number of reed beds with FBA technology.
A number of visits were made to Spain and ARM Iberia gained an order to design a treatment system at A. Canizia in Galicia. The design was completed and construction started in November. The minimal level of trading had prompted ARM Iberia to close the Barcelona office and to operate from home.
